Fine Arts Conservation, Inc. (FACI), founded in 1984, specializes in
the restoration of old masters, modern, contemporary paintings, and
works on paper.

FACI concentrates on the management of National and International

FACI is represented by Abraham Joel and Barbara Bertieri who have a
combined working experience of 45 years.

Abraham Joel, prior to opening his studio in New York, was head of
the Conservation Services Laboratory (CSL) at the Detroit Institute
of Arts.  CSL serviced all the major museums in Michigan in addition
to the Toledo Museum of Fine Arts.  From 1978 to 1984 Joel was
responsible for the care of the collection of the Institute and of the
numerous international exhibitions that originated out of Detroit.
 Joel established a rare technical book library.  Under his supervision
the conservation studios were significantly expanded.

Barbara Bertieri, joined FACI in 1992 and prior to that she directed
her own studio "Artes" in La Spezia, Italy.  Bertieri's expertise in the
field of conservation was developed on old master and contemporary
paintings from private and public collections.  She has been working
as a restorer since 1988.
